WELCOME TO DOMAINE CAMU

Domaine Camu is situated up on the hill of Vézelay, also known as the “Eternal Hill.” This vineyard dates back to the Gallo-Roman times.  At the end of the IX century the Benedictines established a monastery along with wine production.

Our great Vézelay white wines are produced from Chardonnay grape like all the Grand Crus of Burgundy. Our red and rosé wines are produced from Pinot Noir grape also known as Pinot Fin.

In the XII century the Basilica of Saint Madelein was built in Vézelay and Vézelay became a place of pilgrimage and starting point of the Camino de Santiago.

During the XIV and XV centuries, the art of viticulture was developed thanks to the Dukes of Burgundy possessing their own wine estates. The expansion of the vineyard of Vézelay began from the XVIII century.

Our terroir is essentially made of clay-limestone soil. One of our best vineyards called “ le Clos des Ducs” was also part of the prestigious “Clos des Ducs” in the Burgundy region.
